GENERAL INFORMATION
The PAM (Environment Municipal Park) Rio Loro is located at the source of the Rio Loro River and has an area of approximately 23 hectares. This source has approximately a production of 60 l/s. It is located in the district of San Nicolás, Cartago, Costa Rica.
The entrance is located near the company “Recope” (500 meters northern, 200 meters north-western and 800 meters western) on Avance Street.
The total area of 23 hectares include the presence of several species of plants and many species de fauna, especially birds (147), including the famous “Toledo” (Long-tailed Manakin). The beautiful area is another reason why this park has to be protected.
The park has an average annual rainfall of 1500-2000mm, an average temperature of 19° C and an altitude of 1580 meters.
